Place them in the wiki as you like

List of gripes

Hey, I really like your "list of gripes". Those things are often forgotten over time, so it's good to have someone to remind us again. We should adapt such a list wiki-wide, so all players can report irritating signage or other unfixable irregularities to the players that can fix them. What do you think?

PS: keep up the good work of adding the subway stations. I'll be adding some details here and there. --Orwell (talk) 12:37, 1 July 2019 (CEST)

I agree, I will move them to a page "Railway Problems" and see if I can find a spot on the main page to link to it. Hopefully it will get much more attention there. Edit: Done. Linked under Main Page#Trains. --Blockhead (talk) 12:39, 1 July 2019 (CEST)

Railway styleguide

Can you illustrate the Railway Styleguide with positive and negative examples?

Good lines are the Hume Line, Trisiston-Melinka Railway, Euler Street-Wolf Rock Railway, Bad lines would be several kinds of Shittle.--Gabriel (talk) 10:21, 4 July 2019 (CEST)

Wiki conventions

"Don't use line templates in prose". I guess this is true, as the templates stand out a lot and are not use in the real wikipedia. But most wiki pages already use the line template in prose, so we should consistently delete it everywhere. I guess this means I will not create any new wiki pages that use the templates in the body.

Station Infoboxes

Is there a way to make station infoboxes stop automatically categorising pages? I keep getting Category:Pages with no open date in Infobox station. --Ywang (talk) 09:32, 14 September 2019 (CEST)

Just add an approximate station open date in all your infoboxes or ??? if you have no idea --Blockhead (talk) 14:59, 14 September 2019 (CEST)

Videos

Considering that your video is done well, I wouldn't call it a shame that you put it onto your user page.
In fact, I would consider it a shame that orwell didn't make a proper introduction video and sent this instead:

Is this "Beginner's manual" enough?
Thanks to Maxime Launois for writing this.

Found this model rail demonstration/explanation of block sections and interlocking in my YT feed, might be handy as a reference for the next interlocking video:

Re: Historical Map Renders

I don't know about past full map renders of LinuxWorks NG before gabriel's post on forum, but I was saving locally the maps that were stored in http://www.linux-works.de/moin_static198/world.png and later in https://minetest.bananach.space before the previous hosting was screwed up.

Those are all the maps I have prior to world-2018-12-10.png until 2017-08-24. Note: the compressed directory weighs 1.7 GiB and will last 1 week after being uploaded: https://we.tl/t-AB14LUJYex --Felfa (talk) 09:25, 18 January 2020 (CET)

As these maps are of general interest I will place them somewhere on my servers or webspace, that can take a few days.
Addendum: my webspace has enough free space.
2nd Addendum: the maps are available at http://old-maps.li-fo.de , is someone has missing maps, please tell me, I will offer an easy way to upload ; one warning: I will not accept any links to uploads to file hosters or other places which are not wget-able. --Och Noe (talk) 15:54, 19 January 2020 (CET)
