This page is about a proposal of an extension of Spawn Subway Line 8 to Apple Grove.

Introduction

The Spawn Subway is a rapid transit network located in Spawn, but extending to Origin, Riverside, Birch Bay and many other areas. While the part of the network located in Spawn and Origin is globally well served, with many transfers with local and mainline trains and are near of points of intereset, the stations in the wilderness have little to no transfers at all. This becomes really noticeable on sections like Tom Lehrer Street - Large Beach (Line 3) and University - Planetarium, and sections with long distances between stations.

Here are some examples to explain the current situation:

On its own, being known for its poor reliability, the Spawn Subway Line 8 might have a more useful transport purpose by extending it and allowing direct and fast access from Coulomb Street or Edenwood, to Anju Crossing, Large Beach and Apple Grove.

I (mlaunois) am proud to present you my proposal for an extension of the Spawn Subway Line 8 to Apple Grove.

Proposed route

The map with the current line 8 in magenta, and the proposed extension in dark cyan.

The extension has 11 stations. Unless noted otherwise, these are subway stations served by existing lines. It would connect the current line 8 with Spawn Subway Lines 1, 2, 3 and 7. It would create new transfers with local and mainline lines at Marcuse Street, Pierre Berton Street, Anju Crossing Central and Apple Grove, as well as new transfers with lines 4 and 6.

New stations

Marcuse Street

The extension would create a transfer with the E2 and Klb mainline services, as well as a new transfer with line 2.

Watson-Crick Street

The extension would create a new transfer with Line 1.

Pierre Berton Street

The extension would allow the line 8 to reach the Pierre Berton Street Station, allowing travelers to easily go to the north of the map (notably Ehlodex and Personhood).

Djungle City

The extension would create a second transfer with Line 6.

Anju Crossing

The extension would create a transfer at the Anju Crossing Central Station, connecting the subway line to Lines 6 & 7, to the S12 regional service, to the E1 and to the Banana Express.

Volcano Cliffs

The extension would allow direct access to Volcano Cliffs from Anju Crossing or Marcuse Street.

Large Beach

The extension would allow, again, direct access to Large Beach from Line 1, as well as from Anju Crossing without having to take any detours.

Desert View, Desert Mountain and Apple Grove

Those three stations would allow the line 8 extension to connect with the 4 at the west, serving the OCP Main Store and the Apple Grove Station, allowing a new transfer with S20 there.

Service

The line would have a train interval from 1 to 2 minutes. It might be run as the Line 8 or as a separate line, then departing from Edenwood (and named 9?), using regular subway trains.
