Existing track layout
A suggested new grade-separated layout

The junction of tracks east of Half-Mile Island - with no obvious name - hereafter Half-Mile Island Junction after the nuclear facility on the southeast side - suffers from traffic problems. These are two-fold:

  • Routes are set too early as trains approach the platforms at Mountain South, blocking traffic that wants to depart or make opposing moves. This will be solved with an AdvTrains update.
  • The junction is of two mainlines and at-grade, making movements towards Euler Street conflict with movements from Spawn. This should be solved with grade separation.

The worst result is that E1 services coming from Spawn can wait for 2 or even 3 trains to depart Euler Street before being allowed into the station, due probably to a dependency inversion problem. Grade separating the junction should help solve the issue.
