Currently the express trains like E1 on the Spawn-Personhood Mainline are frequently stopping behind local trains like the S12 and ATL/CRT Bronze Line. There is provision in the timetable for delays until the E1 reaches Ehlodex. However, some journeys between Spawn and Ehlodex, and particular Spawn and Anju Crossing can end up being heavily delayed.

With a new track pair, delays to the express service can be minimised, increasing service frequency, without even requiring more trains. Without a new track pair, any more express trains will continue to be stuck behind local trains.

With the extensive trackwork happening, it may also be a good opportunity to upgrade track sections from gravel-only to gravel on stonebrick.

Route proposal

Spawn to Community of Laza

Build a track out from Spawn 21 to Anju Crossing. It will run beneath BlackDog Subway Station and rise up to Anju Crossing Central Station near the end.

Community of Laza to Anju Crossing Central

Add a new track pair in the tunnel, bypassing the stations at Lesnoi North and South, while avoiding the pedestrian tunnels which are quite low at Lesnoi South.

The junction towards the North Harbour Plantation Line will also have to be bypassed

Anju Crossing

The S12 and E1 can join tracks at Anju Crossing Central, and add a new bypass track for Old Cross. The old tunnel may also be wanted as a bypass for freight.

Anju Crossing to Schwarzschild Street

Continue the quadrplication all the way. SChwarzschild passing track should be bypassed instead of the inner/outer layout. The new express track pair can be routed around or through other redwood trees, preserving the 'through a tree' look of the line.

Schwarzchild Street to Ehlodex

The E1 and S12 can share the regional island platform at Schwarzschild Street. But after the station a new parallel tunnel should be built that bypasses Minkovsky Street and Gardon Street. This need not be a tunnel 100% of the time, it can be on the surface at times as well. It will probably need to be a tunnel or at least below the S12 tracks at Gardon Street though.

Ehlodex to ATL/CRT Bronze Junction

From here the parallel track pair model would change to a bypass model, since there are fewer local trains out here.

A bypass track pair should be built through Lusin Street Station. This will help all other services pass the XN train.

ATL/CRT Bronze Junction, The Cube and Personhood Junction

The Cube is choked with probably too many ATL Bronze Line trains. That line should get its own track pair from the junction all the way to the junction betwen Personhood South/Main and Personhood West, especially owing to its very high frequency. It would have a new separate platform at The Cube. Then all the regional trains can share a track pair easily enough.

Personhood Junction to Personhood Main

Does not need any work. Local trains provide minimal interference.

Approved parts

It has been approved that the section between the ATL/CRT line and the Personhood junction should be quadruplicated.
